`Vlei is running a really intriguing contest the idea of which is to produce a "map" of some kind which describes all or part of DA. Great concept, and I'm sure there'll be loads of absolutely wild responses.

My thinking was this:

The most important part of DA - to you - is the art that you love. So, I figured that my map would be like one of those old phrenonlogical models of the head/brain and would use it to map the constantly changing landscape of fascination going on in my head... or in your head.

The thing is, I wanted to get across the point that the map is never constant and that it's different for everyone so I've gone all "mixed media" and made a web page which makes the image that I'm submitting to the contest. If you'd like - you can make your own!

The phrenological head is a PainterX drawing.
The background and overlay card are PSPX2 images.
The source of the images is DA's RSS Feed system.
The website "please wait" guy is a POVRay model and animation script.
The Mindmap itself is built with a PHP script and outputs a nice friendly old JPEG.

The script gathers the thumbnails of the 16 most recent things you've added to your Favorites and plugs them into the phreno head image. Whenever you go back to the page and enter your ID again, you'll get a brand new image up-to-date with your latest faves.
